Postmodernism in Visual Arts Lesson and Its Reflections on Students

Postmodernism emerged as a movement that opposed the dominant views of modernism in field art. Postmodernism, which originated architecture and gradually influenced many areas art, is discussed this study with focus on painting visual arts education. In high school programs Turkey, it important for students to be able examine past, embrace present, era, postmodern way thinking. When relevant literature was reviewed, determined there no research how postmodernism used art education terms student learning outcomes. The aim determine teachers incorporate into their teaching identify any changes students’ interest levels course. study, qualitative method used, specifically case design. sample consisted four who work one central three district schools Yalova province. Two semi-structured interview forms document analysis were data collection tools. findings analyzed using thematic analysis. According findings, participating conveyed artistic intellectual structure through various methods during lesson process. However, they unable achieve all outcomes related postmodernism. also revealed demonstrated preferred employ artwork after about being exposed examples Moreover, provided both positive negative critiques, reflecting aesthetic perspectives artworks. This considered serving an example contributing literature.
